Downtown, Edmonton

La Ronde

A few weeks ago, I had lunch at La Ronde. They recently started offering lunch there so I decided to finally check it out. My mom and I didn’t need any reservations because we went on a Tuesday and there wasn’t any wait for tables. Located on the 24th floor of Chateau Lacombe hotel, we had a great view of downtown Edmonton and the River Valley. My favorite part was that the restaurant revolved as we ate, except I started to feel a little dizzy during the second turn.

I had the Slider Sample, for $19. It included a salmon slider, a pork belly slider, and an Alberta beef slider, along with a good amount of fries. My favorite slider was the Alberta beef one. It was very filling and the fries that accompanied it weren’t too greasy or dry. I would definitely recommend this! Their entrees range from $19 to $24.
She ordered the lobster ravioli, for $24, which she seemed to enjoy. It was also recommended to us by a staff member in the elevator on the way up to the restaurant.

For their lunchtime dessert, La Ronde offered a variety of small-sized dessert choices for $5 each. My mom got the chocolate cheesecake and I got a strawberry apricot jam in a jar (I forgot what it was called). I found the cheesecake to be lacking that cheesy taste but my dessert had a very unique taste. It had mini crunchy biscuit balls in it which tasted delicious with the strawberry apricot jam.

There is complimentary parking for 2 hours if you’re planning to park at the hotel for lunch. Just remember your license plate number as you’ll need to register it to the front desk at La Ronde. Our waiter recommended coming in the summer for a drink during the sunset. They have a great selection for cocktails and other alcoholic beverages. La Ronde is great for dates, whether it be with a friend, significant other, or family member!
