    Summer’s pretty much over but the ice cream truc Summer’s pretty much over but the ice cream trucks are still out and about! 🍦 @littlebsrealfruiticecream specializes in real fruit ice cream. Each cup/cone costs $6.50 for 1 flavour. I tried the strawberry and liked it! It was creamy and delicious. My friend had the peach and said it was tart, but the peach flavour wasn’t that prominent. I found the truck at Grant Notley Park — check out their page to see where they’ll be next.

Here’s what you can find there: 🥬 farm fresh produce for harvesting 🍓 u-pick strawberries depending on the season 🌻 large field of sunflowers 🧑‍🧒‍🧒 family friendly activities 🏪 general store in a 1940s barn The Jungle Farm is open from Monday to Sunday until the end of October.     Popular ramen chain @jinyaramenbar is now open in Popular ramen chain @jinyaramenbar is now open in Edmonton! 🍜 They officially opened today — I was in Vancouver earlier and came here as soon as my flight landed. I personally don’t think that Edmonton has the best ramen scene so this is a great addition. They offer tonkotsu ramen, chicken ramen, and vegan ramen. I had their tonkotsu black ramen which was quite flavourful and the noodles were cooked to my liking. The pork chashu was quite tender. I did think that the pricing was a bit high for the portion at $19.50 per bowl. There’s a lot of appetizers on their menu so I also tried the pressed salmon sushi and takoyaki. My only critique is that the sushi fell apart quite easily. Even though I came on the first day, the wait time wasn’t too bad — 30 mins for a table + less than 15 mins for food. One of the better ramens I’ve had in Edmonton for sure! Also check out the beautiful geisha mural by @alixandrajade.
    One of the coolest dining experiences I’ve had! One of the coolest dining experiences I’ve had! 🎨 @sevenpaintingsde is an immersive dinner show that’s coming to Edmonton. It originated from Dubai and this will be the first one in North America. I was invited for a preview — it officially launches September 27. Taking place at @halobarbistro in @renedmonton, it’s a 7 course meal where each course is inspired by a different artist. The dinner takes you through a sensory journey with 3D projections, storytelling, and props to combine art and food. These are the artists + courses: • Michelangelo — tomato & artichoke crostata • Banksy — prosciutto & pear • Pablo Picasso — confit atlantic salmon • Jackson Pollock — crudite & paint • Andy Warhol — herb crusted beef tenderloin • Salvador Dali — citrus crème catalana • Vincent Van Gogh — chocolate easel The dinner takes 2.5 hours in total and costs $149 per person. There’s also a vegetarian version and kids version. I did prefer some courses over others but this is definitely more for the experience!
    @cafeversailles_ is a French-inspired cafe in Edmo @cafeversailles_ is a French-inspired cafe in Edmonton! ☕️ I’ve been meaning to go for awhile after seeing it on Instagram. They offer cafe drinks, baked goods, desserts, and macarons. I was underwhelmed by the whole visit — from the atmosphere to the food + drink that I tried. I thought it would be a warm and inviting environment yet it felt a bit dull to me. The chocolate hazelnut croissant looked delicious but it was too sweet for my liking. The chai latte barely had a chai taste; all I tasted was syrup mixed with (oat) milk. Although I am glad that I crossed this place off my list.
    The first @chipotlecanada in Edmonton is opening u The first @chipotlecanada in Edmonton is opening up this Thursday, September 19! 🌯 The address is 4715 Calgary Trail. They’re a Mexican-inspired chain known for burritos, bowls, tacos, and salads. It’s build your own with fresh ingredients made daily in-house. I was hosted during the soft opening. I’ve tried Chipotle in both the US and eastern Canada. The food here tasted comparable to what I’ve eaten before. My go-to is usually the steak bowl but I tried out their smoked brisket which is only available for a limited time. The meat was tender with a mild kick. The portions are quite filling. I’m happy that we finally have a Chipotle here!
    The newest dessert concept in Edmonton is now open The newest dessert concept in Edmonton is now open! 🍰 @crumb.bar is a dessert bar that can be found inside Pizza 73 in Terra Losa (no affiliation). My visit was hosted. You can choose from one of their creations or build your own dessert. They have gluten-free and vegan options. These are the creations I tried out: 🍑 Peach Cloud — biscoff crumble, peach compote caramelized in brown sugar, torched vanilla bean mascarpone 🍮 Brûlée Bae — vanilla cake, strawberries, torched vanilla custard 💜 Purple Rain — ube cake, mango, vanilla custard, ube cream cheese whip, shredded coconut, toasted coconut cotton candy 🥣 Saturday Morning — cereal cake, cereal tres leches, cream cheese frosting, whipped cream, crushed cereal My fave was the Peach Cloud which is their monthly feature. If you have a sweet tooth, this is the spot for you!
    There’s a new spot in Edmonton for soup dumpling There’s a new spot in Edmonton for soup dumplings! 🥟 @mr.bun_yilong just opened up on Whyte Ave. It’s where Top One used to be — they’ve rebranded and the food has improved a lot from before. My visit was hosted. They now specialize in xiao long bao (soup dumplings) which are handmade from scratch. You can watch the chefs make it. One of the chefs actually worked at a Michelin one star restaurant in Hong Kong! These dumplings are filled with pork and soup broth. It tasted good but I noticed that some dumplings had more soup than others. Feedback was provided to the restaurant. Other items I tried: • Red oil wontons — Reminded me of the spicy wontons from Din Tai Fung. Quite flavourful from the sauce and had mild spice. • Signature scallion pancake — The dough was chewy and flaky, but it needed more scallions. • Handmade noodles with fried pork steak — This was a noodle soup and the pork was served on the side. Noodles were quite soft. My favourite item were the soup dumplings but it’s nice that they offer a lot of variety on their menu! When I went, it seemed that there was a wait so keep that in mind.
