Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise

Afternoon Tea at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise has been on my bucket list for a while now. Last month, I got to check it off! I’ve had Afternoon Tea before but at the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald in Edmonton, AB.  I was excited to see how this experience in Lake Louise would compare to the one in Edmonton. Afternoon Tea takes place at the Lakeview Lounge inside the hotel. The windows have clear views of Lake Louise and if you get lucky, you can get seated at a window table. Luckily, there were a few window seats available during my visit for me. You bet I got the perfect Instagram photo! Afternoon Tea costs $56 per person and includes a set menu consisting of buttermilk scones, finger sandwiches, dessert buffet, and of course, tea.

Palate Cleanser

We started off with a palate cleanser consisting of alpine whipped cream, topped with fresh seasonal berries. I love eating whipped cream by itself so this certainly hit the spot!

Buttermilk Scones

The buttermilk scones were light and buttery. It was accompanied by Devonshire style cream, house preserve, and lemon curd. I loved eating the scone with the lemon curd because it reminded me of a lemon dessert.

Finger Sandwiches

For finger sandwiches, there was a Mini Lobster Croissant, Smoked Salmon Roulade with Caviar, Piquillo Hens Egg Brioche, Lemon Thyme & Cucumber Cream Cheese, and Coronation Chicken Pain au Lait. Although the sandwiches may look small, they were filling! All of them were delicious but my personal favourite was the Smoked Salmon Roulade with Caviar.

Chefs Inspirational Dessert Buffet

Unlike Afternoon Tea at the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald where desserts were already presented to you, this one had a dessert buffet! The best part? It was unlimited and there was so much to choose from!

I had a great experience at Afternoon Tea here and would definitely recommend it! For $56, it is a good deal considering how you get an unlimited dessert buffet and amazing views of Lake Louise.
