Ambrosial Cheesecake Shop

Ambrosial Cheesecake Shop is a small business locally based out of Calgary, Alberta. They specialize in cheesecake made with small-batch handcrafted cheese. Their cheesecake is available throughout Alberta, including in Edmonton at Uproot Food Collective.

The word “ambrosial” means “especially delicious” in Latin. And I would have to say that these cheesecakes were! I could really taste the difference between these ones and other cheesecakes I’ve tried. I liked how Ambrosial uses its own handcrafted cheese. The cheesecake was rich and creamy in taste while remaining light with each bite.

Ambrosial’s cheesecake is based upon a family recipe. It’s made in artisan batches, using local ingredients. Their cream cheese is created using dairy from Alberta farmers and beet sugar that’s grown and processed in Taber, Alberta. A dessert business that puts effort into sourcing local ingredients is one that I will gladly support!

They have plenty of flavours to choose from or you can keep it simple with plain cheesecake. The flavours I tried were salted caramel, chocolate salted caramel, raspberry, and chocolate raspberry. I enjoyed all of them as they weren’t too sweet or heavy. My favourite would have to be chocolate salted caramel. These individual cheesecakes can actually be stored in the freezer for months. Just thaw for 30 minutes then enjoy.

Along with offering individual cheesecakes, you can also get cheesecake bites and frozen cheesecake bars. Ambrosial’s products are available at multiple retailers throughout Alberta, with plenty in Calgary, small towns, and in Edmonton at Uproot Food Collective (10552 114 Street NW).
