Edmonton, Southside

Tasty Choice

After hearing a fellow foodie rave about this place, I knew I had to try it especially since they served bubble tea! Today, my friends and I were hanging around in the southside so I finally got to go here. Tasty Choice is a really cute and colorful little cafe that offers appetizers, savoury dishes, desserts, and bubble tea. The prices are really cheap (I paid $10 for my bubble tea and dessert) and they are open pretty late if you want a late night snack.

I ordered a small lychee green tea ($3.79) and a crispy HK french toast with ice cream ($5.69). The bubble tea here comes in 2 sizes, small and large, unlike other places which is usually one sized. The bubble tea was pretty good and I would say it tasted almost the same as Dream Tea, where I usually get my bbt fix. The crispy Hong Kong French toast was served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce, marshmallows, a strawberry, and some corn flakes. I thought that the corn flakes added a unique touch to it. The toast had a bit of grease to it but it was still crispy and tasty!

My friends had the strawberry crepe (pictured) and chocolate crepe. They’ve been here before so I’m guessing the crepes are pretty good since it wasn’t their first time ordering it.
I would love to come back to Tasty Choice to try more of their savoury snacks when I’m not so full! Tasty Choice is a cute hang out place with couches and board games as well. Their menu definitely has a wide selection of Hong Kong and Japanese style snacks.
