Love Pizza

I love pizza, do you? *insert pizza emoji*

Love Pizza is the newest and hippest pizza joint to hit the city. It opened a few weeks ago in Canterra Shopping Centre, right in the heart of downtown. Their concept is an order, pay, then eat or take out type of deal. The pizza options are u n l i m i t e d ! You can either choose from creations on their menu or build a whole new pizza yourself. The pizza sizes are meant to serve one person. I found it to be pretty filling though; during both trips I had leftovers for the next day! And pricing wise? Super affordable. You most likely won’t be paying more than $15 for yourself.

I’ve been here twice since it opened, on Valentine’s Day and on a Friday night. During both times there were dinner rushes but the line moved quite quickly. I imagine that there’s a busy lunch crowd as well since it is located downtown.
The interior of the place is very aesthetically appealing. Especially for all you Instagrammers! The black and white decor was modern and definitely made it a unique pizza place.
To start off the order process, there’s a choice of 3 pizza bases available: Traditional Caputo 00, 100% Organic Whole Wheat locally made from Gold Forest Grains, or a Gluten Free crust (extra $3). From there, you can either choose a signature pizza or build your own. The pizza is made in front of you then it’s placed into an oven for 3 minutes.

Afterwards, the finishing toppings are put on then it’s good to go!

Ode to Ukraine Signature Pizza $11.95
On my first trip, I had the Ode to Ukraine. Prior to coming here, I looked at the menu and knew I had to get this. Anything with potatoes on it literally calls my name. I ordered mine on the traditional pizza base. It’s topped with a roasted garlic spread, orange cheddar, shaved potato pieces, Irvings Farm bacon, and caramelized onions. The finishing touches are green onions and drizzles of creme fraiche. The crust was soft and crispy! Not a touch of sogginess to be found which surprised me. Isn’t it sad that I have to brace myself for a soggy crust when I have a thin crusted pizza? Sigh. Props to you Love Pizza. Now for the toppings… mmmm! There was so much bacon on it which I couldn’t get enough of. The bacon was fresh with a few crispy pieces here and there. The creme fraiche was light which I preferred over a sour cream-like sauce. The only thing that would’ve made this pizza complete would be a touch of salt. I felt like although there were a lot of toppings, it was lightly missing some flavour. I’d still go back and order it though cause potatoes.. and bacon.

The Q Signature Pizza $11.95
My friend also ordered a signature pizza. Can you tell we’re not that creative? Jk I built myself a pizza on the second trip. Anyways, he had the traditional crust like me. His pizza was topped with chipotle BBQ sauce, creamy gorgonzola cheese, caramelized onions, chipotle BBQ pulled chicken for the protein, cherry tomatoes, then drizzled with chili oil. Not your average pizza for sure, the toppings went together but we both agreed that it was a bit too sweet.
Love Pizza has been added to my list of go-to restaurants! Fast, affordable, and tasty. What more could you want? Side note: there are vegetarian options, non pizza lovers can order salads, and there’s dessert as well. For dessert, there’s a peach pie pizza and locally made Pinocchio ice cream.
If you do decide to check it out, which I recommend, click here to get a $5 off coupon when you sign up. It’s basically half off your pizza. You’ll love pizza even more afterwards.
