Take Five

Best donuts in town!

Sorry Timmy’s, you can’t be compared to Take Five. Take Five looks like your average little coffee shop located in the Beverly neighborhood, on the east side of Edmonton. It’s quiet and small and what I would call a hidden gem. Their food is amazingly cheap. What’s even more amazing? THEIR DONUTS. You can tell that their donuts are freshly made in-house. There are so many options to choose from and they also have mini donut holes. Along with donuts, Take Five serves sandwiches, soups, chili, oven baked goods, and hot drinks.
CREAM SUPREME DONUT!!!

 Assortment of donuts
Donuts are $1.05 each, $4.99 for half a dozen, and $8.49 for a dozen. Pretty cheap.
I ordered a soup, Earl Grey tea, and 2 donuts all for $6.25 including tax. They only had one soup the day I came in, which was chicken noodle soup. The soup was meh, it only had a few pieces of noodles and chicken. It was mainly broth and was nothing special. I wouldn’t come here for the soup. For the donuts, I had a cream supreme and apple fritter. I was so happy when I saw that they had cream supreme donuts because I didn’t think I could find them anymore after Timmy’s stopped making them. Well Take Five has better cream supreme donuts anyways. I could’ve eaten five in one sitting. It wasn’t filled with too much whipped cream and had a rich amount of chocolate on it. The apple fritter wasn’t overly sweet or sticky with glaze. It was on the lighter side and enjoyable.
I will definitely be returning to Take Five soon for some more donuts! It’s a great place for a quick bite or a warm cup of coffee/tea. I can already picture myself sitting here in the winter with some tea and donuts, while the snow is falling…
