Red Robin (Closed)

I usually prefer to not go to chain restaurants. My friend suggested Red Robin last week so we decided to stop by their Oliver location. He did have to mention unlimited fries to tempt me to come here though. Red Robin is a chain restaurant from America that is well known for their burgers. Their menu features a variety of different burgers to choose from, including a BYOB option (build your own burger). Along with burgers, they’re also known for their bottomless fries and beverages. This means that you only need to pay for the first order. Not a bad idea I’d say. They also offer your usual casual favorites like mac & cheese, fajitas, and salads. I’ve heard that their milkshakes are popular but didn’t get the chance to try one.

Towering Onion Rings
We started off with an order of onion rings, served in a tower! Cool beans. It came with ranch dip and campfire mayo sauce. The mayo sauce was a bit tasteless to me so I stuck with ranch. The onion rings were thick, well breaded, and super crispy. We both enjoyed it.
Royal Red Robin Burger
I ordered one of their classic gourmet burgers, which came with bottomless fries. The only reason why I chose this burger is because it came with an egg. You can’t go wrong with eggs in burgers! Aside from that, the burger had regular toppings such as cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, and mayo. The burger was pretty big in size but it tasted just like your average burger. Nothing impressive, a bit on the dry side actually. On the other hand, the bottomless steak fries were delicious. They were thickly cut and came with a side of seasoning on the table. I ordered one of their “premium” sauces to go with it, garlic mayo aioli.

Red’s Tavern Double
My friend had a double burger which is honestly your basic burger with two beef patties. Again, nothing special. For his side he got poutine. Instead of the poutine being unlimited though, it was fries and gravy. The gravy had a bit of a herby taste to it.
Would I come back here? Maybe if I was in the area and craving carbs.. mmm particularly fries and onion rings. But not for a burger!
