The Melting Pot

Hi guys! I’m back from my 3 month blogging break. I’ve missed blogging but it did feel nice to go out to eat a few times and not have to take photos while making my friends wait for me. The last place that I went to was The Melting Pot with my friend. It was a first time for both of us.
I’m sure many of you are familiar with the unique concept of this place. Most of the food is served fondue style; cheese, entree, and dessert. It’s a place that crosses many people’s minds for a special occasion such as an anniversary or birthday. I can understand why. It’s dimly lit but comforting at the same time. Seating takes place in intimate booths that make you feel separate from other diners. You can choose a set pricing of the 4 courses (cheese, salad, entree, or dessert) or order each course individually if you don’t want to have them all. The menu is a bit higher-priced so I would suggest the individual selection. My friend and I actually only came here for the dessert because we wanted burgers for dinner. We didn’t feel the need to have the full experience. Everyone knows dessert is the best part anyways!
Yin & Yang Fondue: $10
This was my first ever chocolate fondue experience which I had really enjoyed. There are a few different chocolate fondues to choose from, all of which are accompanied by fresh fruit and pastries. My friend and I chose the yin & yang fondue. It’s a combination of both dark and white chocolate. The chocolate was rich and creamy. It certainly satisfied our sweet tooth, maybe a little too much.

The fruits that came with it were pineapple, strawberries, and bananas. For pastries, it included cheesecake, brownies, sponge cakes, and marshmallows. These were “refillable” the whole night which was a bonus. I wish that there was more fruit that came with it though. Most of the fruits and pastries went well with the fondue aside from the brownie and cheesecake. I felt like dipping the brownie was too sweet, even for me. The cheesecake just didn’t pair up with dipped chocolate. My favorite dippers of the night? Strawberries and the oreo-crusted marshmallows!
I would definitely recommend the Melting Pot if you’re looking for a special place to dine. Whether you decide to try 1 course or the whole thing, the experience is worth a visit. Dipping food is pretty fun as well!
