The Lodge at Snow Valley

Last month, I had the opportunity of being invited to The Lodge at Snow Valley for a lunch buffet offered by their in-house catering service. The Lodge is a venue that holds weddings, meetings, and events in a cozy and inviting atmosphere.  The culinary team is led by Chef Leo, who is a Red Seal chef, formerly of the Sorrentino’s Group.

I haven’t been to Snow Valley in years and it was quite a change seeing it without any snow on the ground. The windows overlook Edmonton’s beautiful greenery during the spring and summer seasons.

The interior of the place represents their name – lodge – because it’s what you’d imagine a lodge to be like with it’s wooden accents and warm lighting. The Lodge emits a countryside vibe that won’t be easy to find in the middle of a city.

The lunch buffet offered a variety of items: panini with sliced chicken breast, blue cheese, tomato jam, and grilled pineapple, roasted potatoes, tomato mac and cheese, and squash in tomato sauce. My favorite item would have to be the tomato mac and cheese. It was creamy and delicious! Coleslaw salad and New England style prawn and scallop chowder were also being served that day but I didn’t have a chance to try it.

For dessert, my friend and I decided to try a variety of cakes they had offered. My favorite was definitely the rich blueberry cheesecake.
The Lodge is a great place to hold wedding receptions, corporate functions, and special events. Their menu is catered to any taste and budget for 40 to 200 people.
Disclosure: Snow Valley’s catering supervisor had invited me to sample The Lodge for lunch. A review was not expected. It is 100% unbiased and based on my own sincere opinion.
