Tasty Tomato Italian Eatery
July 6, 2014
Tasty Tomato is a little Italian restaurant on the westside of the city that I probably wouldn’t have gone to if it wasn’t for my friend picking out our lunch spot. During lunch, they have about six items for a reasonable cost (under $12) written on a whiteboard that diners can choose from. The items are some form of pasta and is served with a plate of salad and a loaf of focaccia bread. The lunch format is that you come to the till and order then bring your food to your table rather than having it served to you.
I chose the Rotini Tre Formaggi ($9.95) which the waiter told me is their most popular pasta dish. In translation, it’s a three cheese rotini that consisted of fontina, mozzarella, and parmesan cheeses in a tomato cream sauce. It was very creamy but not too overwhelming and tasted like comfort food!
My friend had the combination plate for $12.95 (I forgot the exact name). For this plate, you could choose the three items that you wanted. He had the Rotini Tre Formaggi, Cannelloni, and chicken covered in a light tomato sauce. He really enjoyed the food as it wasn’t his first time being here!
Tasty Tomato is decently priced with decent food but it wasn’t something spectacular.
