Holt Cafe

Following my previous post, my friend and I decided to try out Holt Cafe for some tea and dessert after our taco lunch. Located in Holt Renfrew on the second floor, we had nice window seats overlooking Manulife Place (very interesting I know). It’s a smaller restaurant with a simple and modern atmosphere. Holt’s Cafe also serves starters, main entrees, tartines (classic French sandwiches), and alcoholic drinks. The price range leans towards the higher side, especially for lunch, but it’s definitely worth a try if you need a shopping break!

We each ordered a pot of tea ($4 each) and chose the same flavour, toasted almond brittle. It was delicious (and pink!), and something I would love to drink everyday. The flavour wasn’t too strong and was a rooibos tea that had a mix of almonds and apple in it.
This dessert was love at first bite… My friend & I both thought it was one of the best desserts we had ever had!! I remember we each tried it and were both in awe of its taste. I forgot the name of it but it was $10 and I don’t think it’s on the menu anymore because their menu changes constantly. The cake had 3 layers: the bottom layer was sponge cake, the middle was pistachio ice cream, and then the top was meringue. It was very soft and fluffy!

We also had a ginger banana bread pudding I think, I forgot what it was exactly. It was $10 as well and didn’t come close to the other dessert.
