Vi’s For Pies

Vi’s For Pies is a quaint little restaurant that can be described as cozy and cute. Located on Stony Plain Road, they specialize mainly in pies but they also have a large selection of lunch items on their menu. As soon as you walk in, you’ll see the large glass display of all the delicious desserts they offer. This is one of those places where you have to “save room for dessert.” Coincidentally, it was Pie Day when my friend and I decided to try out Vi’s For Pies!
We both each got the chicken pot pie, which is one of the items that Vi’s is well known for. Unlike other pot pies that I’ve had, at Vi’s the crust is separate from the filling. The crust is a puff pastry that is on top of the filling. The filling consists of large chicken chunks, potatoes, carrots, and peas in a creamy sauce. It was an enjoyable meal that is worth trying out for those who have never had chicken pot pie.
For dessert, we shared the skor cheesecake. It was tasty but the cream cheese icing on top was very rich and thick. I can see why Vi’s is known for their desserts, though. I would definitely return to try out one of the many dessert pies in the glass case.
